                                                       Science in a Van
                                                     Whole school session
Emily had demonstrated pull force by pulling a tablecloth from under some cups and a tea pot. The tablecloth had to be silky fabric so no friction was made while the tablecloth got pulled from underneath.
Allan had also demonstrated pull force by having a piece of wood with strings attached that he swung around in a circle. As part of the show Allan coughed and needed a glass of water. After having a drink he placed the glass of water on the piece of wood, then he swung it around with the glass of water. The  water stayed in the glass and the glass stayed on the board.

                                         Kauri team session
Allan had asked for 5 volunteers to show us the five senses (although we already know them) Olivia had to use her sight to identify her itemScreenshot 2017-05-04 at 07.09.48.png
We got to see a L&P can implode after being on a hot plate for about 1 hour and dunk into a tub of cold water. I found it really interesting and fascinating.

We got taught about dry ice and how cold it is. We found out that you should never ever put dry ice in a sealed container with a lid because it will explode and touch the roof.

We also learnt about the periodic table and what makes water, vinegar, baking soda and baking soda and vinegar
